ON TARGET is the speaking and writing division of the private practice of Kent Hughes, Psy.D. Dr. Hughes is a licensed psychologist focusing primarily on issues of the family. ON TARGET retreats and seminars facilitate growth in couples and individuals by clarifying the goals set before us through the Scriptures. What are you aiming for? What are your goals? What do you hope to accomplish with your limited time here on earth? These are the questions that ON TARGET weekends will address. Many times couples never set goals for their relationships and therefore, drift over time. Others start with goals and then become distracted by the pursuits of our culture. These weekends with Dr. Hughes will give each participant the opportunity to wade through the muddy waters of busyness and apathy to discover the call of God on their lives. Through the marriage retreats, parenting retreats, or the men’s weekends, the passion for following Christ will be amplified and clearly illustrated.

The family is still the core socialization unit in our culture. And never before has the family been under attack as it is now. The church must step forward to train, encourage, and support the family through authentic experiences that facilitate biblical growth. This is our time. If we stand by and passively allow our homes to break apart, our culture will erode and the church will become even weaker. These weekend experiences will strengthen the family and the local church.
